The Westway Trust is seeking a dedicated After-School Teacher to join our team in North Kensington. This is an exciting opportunity to help boost children's attainment and achievement with 6 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year). This includes 4 class contact hours and 2 hours for preparation, outreach, and school contact. Key Responsibilities: The primary goal is to improve the attainment and achievement of children from the Traveller community, focusing particularly on reading, writing, and spelling. Deliver high-quality out of hours teaching at the mini-club for children up to age 8 (EYFS, KS1, and KS2). Help children access learning activities using various support strategies, including ICT. Work closely with the Traveller Teacher/mentor at Oxford Gardens to exchange information on attainment levels, planning, and individual support needs. Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports on childrens progress and achievements. Maintain a record of all individual teaching sessions for monitoring purposes. Work in partnership with the Travellers families, encouraging them to get involved in their childrens learning. Adhere to all Westway Trust policies and procedures relating to safeguarding children and young people. Assist in setting up and clearing the classroom after lessons.
