Machinist Precision Engineering Location: Croydon Salary: 34,000 41,000 Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent My client, a well-established engineering organisation in Croydon, is seeking an experienced Machinist to join their workshop team, supporting the maintenance, repair and overhaul of precision-engineered components across a range of industrial sectors, ensuring high-quality output and efficient turnaround. The Role Produce and refurbish components to tight tolerances Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings Set and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling, drilling, boring and grinding machinery Use and maintain precision measuring tools to verify compliance Adapt tooling and methods to meet varied machining challenges Support workshop colleagues by producing tooling and component modifications Maintain safe, clean and efficient working practices Contribute to planning and basic machine maintenance About You Proven experience in a manual machining environment Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification preferred Confident interpreting metric and imperial technical drawings Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset Able to work effectively both independently and within a team Flexible and able to manage changing priorities Good communication skills and commitment to safety standards Whats on Offer Salary between 34,000 and 41,000 depending on experience Ongoing training and skills development opportunities Stable and respected engineering business with strong values Varied role with interesting and technically challenging work TPBN1_UKTJ
