Finance Manager Private School Bath | Permanent, Full-time An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join a thriving private school near Bath as their Finance Manager. Working closely with management team you'll lead the finance team and play a key role in supporting the school's financial management and strategic planning. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for a qualified or part-qualified accountant who thrives on autonomy and wants to make a real impact in a forward thinking educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the finance function, including management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and year-end reporting Manage payroll, pensions, and statutory compliance (PAYE, NI, P60s, P11Ds) Oversee school fees billing, credit control, and debtor management Coordinate the annual audit and ensure timely VAT and tax returns Line manage and develop a two person finance team What We're Looking For: Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or part-qualified with substantial experience Strong background in management accounts, forecasting, and financial reporting Excellent Excel skills and experience with accounting software (ideally Sage and / or iFinance) Exceptional attention to detail with strong organisational and communication skills Experience in a school finance environment would be beneficial If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can combine technical expertise with leadership in a supportive and collaborative setting, we'd love to hear from you.
