They are also a key supplier to the international vehicle and engine industry, partnering on sustainable mobility and drive concepts.The RoleThey are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team in Morecambe. In this role, you will oversee the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services essential to their operations. The focus will be on achieving the best balance of price, quality, and delivery schedules while driving efficiency and innovation in their procurement processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategic purchasing plans to optimize efficiency.Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts to secure favorable terms.Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors.Collaborate with inventory and finance teams to align procurement with operational goals.Lead procurement projects and develop long-term strategies.Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution.Conduct in-depth research to inform purchasing decisions.Support the creation of tender documents and detailed specifications.Integrate social value considerations into procurement initiatives.Ensure compliance with legal, policy, and organizational standards.Proactively identify and mitigate risks in the procurement process.Leverage e-procurement tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.Skills & ExperienceMinimum of 2 years experience in a procurement role.Proven experience in supplier management and developing technical or commercial specifications.Basic understanding of procurement processes and key aspects.Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (desired).Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders and external organizations.Experience in structured or project-based environments.Proficiency in producing written and verbal reports.Financial literacy and strong analytical skills.Excellent communication, attention to detail, and time management skills.Proficient in MS Office.Working HoursApproximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility to meet production deadlines.What They OfferPension provided after 3 months of full-time employment.20 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays, with additional holidays after 2 and 5 years of service.Investment in professional development through training opportunities.They are committed to fostering a culture of growth and success.
