About the Role As an Assistant Chef working within a vibrant community caf setting, youll support the Caf Manager in the day-to-day running of the caf and help deliver an inviting space for residents to eat, meet, learn, grow and be inspired. Youll play a key role in ensuring the caf remains a valued hub in the local area. Key Responsibilities: Support the Caf Manager to prepare and deliver a daily food menu. Provide cover and support for the Caf Manager as needed. Assist in health & safety monitoring and caf compliance. Develop and maintain links with local community stakeholders. Contribute to menu planning focused on healthy food using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Source suppliers (supporting local where possible) in line with a sustainable procurement policy. Manage stock and ordering processes when required. Support community events and activities as directed by the Caf Manager / Community Hub Manager. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with residents and the wider public. What Were Looking For: A team-player with a passion for food, community and service. Experience in a kitchen/catering role (ideally in a caf or community setting). Strong organisation, health & safety awareness and kitchen management skills.
