Job Description

Winsearch is working with a leading Coventry-based composites manufacturer (Armstrong Group) to recruit a Storeman/Kit Cutter for their Bayton Road facility. In this key role you'll ensure the smooth daily operation of the stores area, supporting production targets in a high-tech automotive, aerospace and motorsport environment. Key Responsibilities Stores operations: Oversee day-to-day running of the stores area, following all procedures and 5S standards. Ensure materials and kit components are stored safely, cleanly and in the right location. Stock management: Manage inventory control, including part identification, batch coding and FIFO rotation to meet production schedules. Use stock systems (e.g. Sage 200 ERP) to record movements and maintain accurate stock levels Kit cutting (ZND): Operate the ZND digital cutting system to prepare material kits and templates. (ZND cutters provide automated, precise digital cutting of composite materials.) Template and kit fabrication: Manufacture cutting templates and component kits to specifications, ensuring parts are labelled and kitted correctly for lamination or fitting. Autoclave handling: Load, unload and monitor the autoclave curing process for composite parts, working safely under heat and pressure. Assist with breakout (de-moulding) of cured components as required. Production support: Liaise with the production team to help meet delivery targets. Assist operators by providing kits and materials on schedule, and help resolve any material or tooling issues. Continuous improvement: Actively participate in 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives, suggesting improvements to optimise workspace, reduce waste and improve efficiency across the store and shop floor. Candidate Profile We're looking for a motivated team player with strong organisational skills and a can-do attitude. To be successful you will have: Composites experience: At least 2 years' hands-on experience in composite manufacturing (e.g. as a laminator or composites fitter). You understand prepreg, vacuum-bagging and trimming processes. ZND expertise: Proven experience operating ZND (or similar digital cutting) equipment to create templates and kits. You can load files, change blades/tools and troubleshoot basic machine issues. Autoclave experience: Familiarity with autoclave curing processes is essential you know how to bag parts, set up an autoclave run and safely handle hot molds and cured components. Inventory knowledge: Solid stock control skills, ideally using an ERP or inventory system (experience with Sage 200 is a strong advantage). You're comfortable with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and may have used integrated systems like Sage 200 that connects with Microsoft 365 Personal skills: Highly organised and proactive, you prioritise tasks effectively under minimal supervision. A strong team ethic and excellent communication are key you'll coordinate with production, quality and logistics colleagues. Safety focus: You have a high awareness of Health & Safety and work practices. You ensure compliance with safety procedures at all times, and contribute to maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment (part of our 5S/Lean culture) Why Join Us?
