True work-life balance - 36-hour week, Mon-Fri, days only High-value benefits equal to almost 10k on top of salary Training & development built in, with access to funded courses and upskilling The Role Carry out planned and reactive maintenance carpentry across university buildings Install and repair doors, ironmongery, access control and fire-release mechanisms Fit kitchen units, worktops and internal joinery as required Support heritage-listed building works and small improvement projects Provide estimates, material lists and technical input to the wider team Join the estates on-call rota (approx. 1 in 4-5 weekends) with paid allowance + overtime You'll Need NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry / Joinery (essential) Skilled in building fabric repairs, fixings, door sets and internal carpentry Competent using woodworking machinery and hand tools Reliable, organised and comfortable working independently on a large estate Full UK driving licence Willing to join on-call rota Benefits Package Base salary 30,000-33,000 + 2,750 on-call allowance Overtime available (typical additional c. 2,750 p.a.) 32 days' holiday incl. bank holidays Excellent pension scheme + life assurance Employee assistance, wellbeing support, on-site facilities Long-term job security in a permanent, days-based university role Apply Click Apply to be considered for this Maintenance Carpenter position.
