Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in earthworks and civil engineering projects?We're representing a leading civil engineering contractor delivering large-scale earthworks, drainage, highways, and infrastructure schemes across the North East and Yorkshire.This is a long-term opportunity for a commercially astute professional who thrives on taking ownership of projects — managing commercial strategy from tender through completion, safeguarding value, and driving cost efficiency throughout the delivery process.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the full commercial and contractual management of multiple earthworks and civil engineering projectsOversee cost forecasting, valuations, change management, CVRs, and final accountsManage subcontract procurement, payments, and performance reviewsEnsure compliance with both NEC3/NEC4 and JCT forms of contract, as well as internal governance and reporting standardsDrive commercial best practice, mentoring junior QS staff and ensuring accuracy in reportingProvide input into tendering, estimating, and value engineering during pre-construction phasesLiaise directly with project managers and clients to maintain strong commercial relationshipsRequirementsProven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or experienced QS ready to step up)Strong track record delivering earthworks or bulk excavation projects within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectorsIn-depth knowledge of NEC (Options A, B, C & E) and JCT contract formsExceptional commercial acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detailExcellent communicator with strong client-facing and negotiation abilitiesHNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related disciplineProficient in Microsoft Office and ideally familiar with systems such as CEMAR or FastDraftWhat's On OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package (including pension, healthcare, car allowance depending on experience)Permanent position on long-term civil and earthworks frameworksClear progression opportunities toward Commercial Manager levelRobust regional project pipeline across the North East and YorkshireSupportive, hands-on team culture that values practical, site-experienced professionalsAbout InfraSource Recruitment At InfraSource Recruitment, we're industry professionals turned recruiters — people who've spent 14+ years on the frontline of civil and infrastructure projects before crossing the table.That means we understand the roles, the pressures, and the value you bring.♂️ Boots on the ground experience.
