This role is perfect for someone passionate about child nutrition and eager to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting. Day-to-day of Kitchen Manager / Head Chef the role: Oversee the daily operations of the nursery kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Plan and prepare nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of children, considering allergies and portion sizes. Manage food ordering and inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Train and supervise kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and high standards of food hygiene and safety. Collaborate with nursery management to develop menus that are both nutritious and appealing to children. Stay updated on the latest nutrition guidelines and food safety regulations relevant to childcare settings. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef. Previous experience in the Education sector, such as nurseries or schools, is essential. Strong knowledge of child nutrition, portion control, and dietary needs. Certified in allergy awareness and capable of implementing appropriate food safety measures. Eligibility to work full-time in the UK. Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
