Our company, Cotswold Talent Solutions, are recruiting an experienced and detail-oriented Health & Safety Risk Assessment and SOP Specialist to join our dynamic clients food manufacturing business on a 6 month initial contract. Although this is initially a 6 month contract this role offers a GENUINE opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate after the contract finishes In this important role, youll be responsible for reviewing and updating all existing risk assessments across the business, ensuring they reflect current operational practices and food manufacturing standards. Youll also play a key part in standardising documentation including manual handling data capture sheets, MAC and RAPP assessments and converting these into clear and practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This position is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys working collaboratively within a fast-paced, people-driven environment. Youll help strengthen our safety culture and compliance framework while contributing to a business that truly values its people and flexibility. 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (flexible start and finish times) This position will also accommodate part time hours for the right candidate! 32000 - 34000 Depending on Experience! Key Responsibilities : Review and update all existing company risk assessments, aligning them with current food manufacturing operations and compliance requirements. Identify any gaps and complete additional risk assessments where needed. Assess and improve the robustness of all risk assessments, ensuring full identification and evaluation of potential risks. Use manual handling data capture, MAC, and RAPP tools to develop accurate and comprehensive evaluations. Recommend practical, achievable control measures and implement safe systems of work. Ensure all documentation meets current Health & Safety legislation, food manufacturing standards, and insurance obligations. Convert relevant risk assessments into clear, step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide thorough handover notes and documentation to support ongoing internal use after project completion. Skills & Experience : Proven experience conducting workplace risk assessments within afood manufacturing or production environmentis advantageousbut not essential. Strong track record in producing high-quality, compliant risk assessments and SOPs. Excellent understanding of health and safety best practices in food processing and manufacturing Or a similar environment Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Qualifications (Preferred) : NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
