The Role The company is seeking an experienced Estimator to take responsibility for pricing and tendering across a range of commercial groundworks and civils projects. This position offers the opportunity to work in a hands-on environment, contributing to a growing business with a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates and tenders for commercial groundworks and civil engineering works. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities. Complete take-offs and produce detailed pricing schedules. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations. Support the post-tender process and project handovers to site teams. Maintain and develop estimating systems and tender documentation. Manage multiple tenders and meet submission deadlines. Key Experience & Skills Proven experience as an Estimator within the commercial groundworks or civil engineering sector (essential). Good knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads, external works, and site preparation. Strong understanding of take-offs, cost analysis, and tender preparation. Proficient in estimating software such as Causeway, ConQuest, or Excel. Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team. Strong attention to detail and time management. Desirable Experience in design & build tenders or early-stage cost planning. Established relationships with local supply chains. Relevant industry certification (e.g. CSCS, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
