JOB: Criminal Duty Solicitor SALARY: DOE A well-established firm based in Manchester Summary of role Handling a varied caseload of private and legal aid funded criminal defence cases Representing clients from initial caution through to case conclusion Dealing with ranging matters from police caution through to Magistrates / Crown Court Main tasks and responsibilities Manage a range of criminal cases, including traffic matters, serious violence, murder, sexual offences, fraud, and public order and dishonesty Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing commercially viable advice and support Provide representation in court, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients Work collaboratively with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services To ensure confidentiality of the firms and clients documents and information, maintaining the highest standard of client care. Personal skills and attributes Qualified Criminal Solicitor with current practising certificate 2 years PQE Duty Solicitor status An exceptional grasp of criminal law and procedure. Proficiency in organising tasks and adhering to deadlines. Ability to offer quality counsel to clients. A capacity to work efficiently while maintaining a flexible approach.
