Extrusion Line Technician Location: Aylesham, Canterbury, Kent Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shifts: 4 on 4 off 12-hour shifts (6am6pm, Days) + shift allowance The Opportunity Were looking for an experienced and motivated Extrusion Line Technician to join a leading UK manufacturer within the food and packaging industry based in Aylesham, Canterbury . In this hands-on role, youll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion and thermoforming lines to ensure that products meet strict quality and safety standards. Youll play a vital part in keeping production running smoothly, minimising waste, and supporting preventative maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion/thermoforming lines to produce high-quality products. Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and specification standards. Carry out regular checks, adjustments, and process changes to optimise performance. Perform basic maintenance, such as filter and screen changes, slitter blade replacements, and general line cleaning. Record production data accurately to ensure full material traceability. Minimise scrap and downtime by responding quickly to any production or equipment issues. Collaborate with engineering and shift teams to resolve problems and support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work area at all times. About You Previous experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or extrusion environment (plastics experience desirable). Strong mechanical or process understanding, with hands-on machine operation skills. Confident working independently in a fast-paced production setting. Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Comfortable using Windows-based IT systems to record production data. A proactive and reliable team player.
