Due to an increase in workload, my client, an leading engineering company based in Huddersfield are looking to recruit a CMM Programmer / Inspector to join their existing team on a permanent basis. Candidates will be required to inspect a range of Machined components using a range of Dimensional inspection equipment (Micrometers/Verniers) and CMM equipment( Training provided where needed). Candidates must be time served with a wealth of Quality Inspection experience to be considered for this role. Candidates must be experienced in reading of engineering drawings and working with dimensional inspection equipment and checking accompanying documentation. Must have experience working to extremely tight tolerances Hours Mon Friday 37 hours per week. Double Days pattern also available (6-2/ 10-6) and includes a 19% shift premium Role Description The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring precision and quality in manufactured components by programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect parts against engineering specifications and standards. Develop and writeCMMprograms using software such as PC-DMIS. OperateCMMequipment and FARO arms to inspect first-off, in-process, and final components. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and 3D models. Analyse measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports. Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve dimensional issues. Maintain and calibrateCMMequipment and ensure proper documentation. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and inspection processes. Skills & Attributes Proven experience inCMMprogramming and operation. Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques. Proficiency inCMMsoftware (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. NVQ/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience with other metrology tools (e.g., micrometres, height gauges, surface plates).
