Position: Production ManagerLocation: Labman HQ, Seamer, North YorkshireSalary: 40,000 - 50,000 (based on experience)Please note - we do not offer sponsorship or working visas.Labman Automation, a globally recognised and multi-award-winning company headquartered in North Yorkshire, specialises in designing and manufacturing bespoke laboratory automation systems and products for a diverse range of industries worldwide. Due to increasing global demand for our custom automation solutions and innovative robotic laboratory products, we are expanding our team to support continued growth and innovation.The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to oversee and lead production operations within our bioprocess automation business unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced manufacturing processes, lean principles, and team leadership within a high-tech or robotics environment. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of robotic systems and components.What you will doLead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations are met or exceeded.Develop and implement manufacturing strategies, production plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams to optimise product design for manufacturability.Establish and monitor KPIs related to production efficiency, downtime, quality, and labour utilisation.Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles and drive waste reduction initiatives across the facility.Manage budgets, production schedules, and resource allocation.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.What you''ll bringDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, within the robotics, automation, or high-tech manufacturing sector.Strong knowledge of manufacturingProven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Company Benefits:33 days annual holiday (raising to 38 over 5 years) inc. public holidays.5% employer pension paid on full salaryAviva HealthcareTravel opportunities in various rolesEnhanced maternity Pay (long service applicable)Enhanced Paternity leaveCPD support and annual subscription to appropriate body covered.Free inhouse gym, squash, bouldering wall, and countless clubsCulture:At Labman, innovation is at the heart of everything we do.
