Joinery Finishing Technician Salary : Competitive, based on experience Location: Twineham workshop (just outside Brighton) Working Hours: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday Job Type : Full-time, Permanent Positions Available : 2 About Us: At Sash Window Restorations, weve been manufacturing, restoring, and installing high-quality traditional timber sash windows, casement windows, and doors for nearly 20 years. Based across two sites, our main office in Hove and our large joinery workshop in Twineham, we proudly serve homeowners across Sussex and the surrounding areas. All our joinery is crafted and finished in-house, giving us full control over quality from design and manufacture through to installation. As part of our continued growth, we're now looking to welcome two new Joinery Finishing Techniciansinto our Twineham team. This opportunity has become available due to internal progression and relocation. It means youll be stepping into a well-established role within a thriving department, with support from our joinery shop manager and wider team. Main Purpose of the Role This is a hands-on, skilled position working in our finishing department, where youll be responsible for the spraying, finishing, and glazing of our in-house manufactured joinery, primarily sash windows, casement windows, and doors. Youll be working with a team that values tidy, respectful workshop practices and producing a final product we can proudly put our name to. With our dedicated spray booth and high-end tooling, this is a great opportunity to grow into a leading role within a key part of the business. Key Responsibilities Spraying & Finishing: Use an air-assisted airless spray system to apply high-quality water-based paint finishes in our purpose-built spray booth. Surface Prep: Sand, fill, and prepare timber surfaces for finishing to a professional standard. Glazing: Install both single and double glazing into joinery products, including applying sealants and fitting timber beading. Final Prep: Ensure all items are finished, glazed, and quality checked before delivery or installation. Workshop Collaboration: Work closely with the joinery team and shop manager to meet project deadlines and support ongoing production. Product Handling: Safely move and handle finished items; most glazing is light enough for solo handling. What Were Looking For Experience: At least 2 years experience in either spraying, finishing, or glazing, ideally in joinery, cabinetry, or furniture production (though were open to other skilled backgrounds). Spraying Knowledge: Comfortable using professional spray systems and prep tools. Glazing Skills: Experience fitting glazing and applying beading/sealants is beneficial. Attention to Detail: Takes pride in delivering neat, consistent finishes and tidy work practices. Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required. Tech-Friendly: Willing to use basic workshop software for job tracking/logging.
