Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering business in their search for a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Dorset.This role offers the chance to take ownership of full lifecycle electronic and electrical design projects, contributing directly to innovative, high-performance products used in demanding environments. You’ll be responsible for developing robust and efficient electronic hardware solutions from concept through to manufacturing.Key responsibilities will include:Developing electronic hardware designs based on functional and technical requirements, with a focus on power supply, electronics hardware and electrical power distributionCreating schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard CAD toolsWriting technical documentation including specifications, BOMs, and test plansCollaborating with software and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integrationSupporting validation, testing, and design reviews across the project lifecycleInvestigating obsolescence issues and maintaining support for legacy systemsTo succeed in this role, you will have:A qualification in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (HNC or above)Strong experience in electronic and electrical hardware developmentGood experience and knowledge of power supply and electrical power distributionFamiliarity with full product development lifecycle, from concept to productionConfidence working on both new development and supporting existing designsStrong communication skills, a proactive problem solver, and detail-orientedThis role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative, well-established engineering team working on technically interesting products in a supportive environment.This is a permanent position based full-time on-site in Poole, Dorset with occasionally travel to customer sites (UK & overseas) for technical support or installations.
