Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading UK law firm as a Team Leader within their specialist Clinical Negligence department. You will oversee a team currently comprising four individuals, with responsibility for all birth injury cases.With approximately 300 new birth injury cases expected over the next 12 months, this is a pivotal role in a growing team. As the caseload increases, the team will continue to expand, offering real scope for career progression and leadership impact.About the Role:This role is ideal for a Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer looking to step into a strategic leadership position. You’ll work closely with other Team Leaders and the Head of Department to drive consistency, excellence, and collaboration across the firm.Please note: This role offers flexible, remote-first working, with occasional travel to the firm’s Leeds office.Main Responsibilities:Lead and develop the team to ensure delivery of high standards and performanceManage day-to-day people operations, including supervision, support, and appraisalsEnsure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with legal, technical, and client care standardsContribute to strategic decisions around case conduct, workflow, and team structureCollaborate with colleagues across the department to ensure best practice and smooth handoversEssential Requirements:Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer with 4+ years’ experience managing Clinical Negligence casesPrevious experience in a supervisory or team management roleStrong technical knowledge of Clinical Negligence, ideally including birth injury claimsCommercial awareness and sound legal judgementExcellent organisational and time management skillsFamiliarity with Proclaim or similar case management softwareDesirable:Experience mentoring or training junior team membersWhat’s on Offer:Competitive salaryPerformance-related bonus schemePension scheme with tax-efficient salary sacrificeLife Assurance coverMedicash health plan (covering dental, optical, and medical costs)35 days’ annual leave including bank holidays and Christmas closure (plus option to buy 3 extra days)Enhanced sick pay schemeFlexible, agile working culture to support work-life balanceMonthly staff rewards and recognitionFunded social events throughout the yearThis firm places well-being, growth, and inclusion at the heart of their culture.
