Drawing Office & Design Manager | Battle | Full Time | Salary depending on experienceOur client designs, manufactures and installs exquisite bespoke joinery, bound for some of the world's most exclusive residential addresses, a host of the UK's most ancient and historic buildings, as well as the Capital's leading corporate landmark developments.They are recruiting for an experienced Drawing Office & Design Manager to lead their prolific in-house Design Department.The role of the Drawing Office & Design Manager will be predominantly based at the factory in East Sussex, overseeing the production of working drawings and supplementary information to support the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke joinery and associated products.This role combines technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring that the drawing office operates efficiently and produces high-quality, accurate, and practical solutions, ensuring they target the expected design hours and deliver to the programme.Most of the work is based within the Home Counties and Central London, although work is undertaken further afield when required.Are you the right person for the job? Experienced in managing a Drawing Office with a track record of leading teamsProficient in one or more of the following: AutoCAD / iX / Inventor / SolidWorksAble to detail both traditional and modern joinery designsHighly organised with the ability to deliver precise information within programme requirementsFamiliar with CDM regulations, ensuring designs align with Health & Safety standardsProactive in driving the design process forward, identifying and resolving challenges efficientlyFlexible and committed, including undertaking overtime when necessary to meet project demandsDedicated to creating a positive work environment, ensuring client satisfaction and team collaboration What will your role look like? Lead and manage our team of Design Managers and technicians, ensuring that drawings meet approval and construction requirementsSupervise the Drawing Office, maintaining efficient workflow, programme compliance, resource allocation, and quality controlReview Howard Bros Joinery (HBJ) quotations, ensuring that designs maximise company benefit while maintaining quality and cost efficiencyOversee and refine the HBJ Project Design Brief, aligning designs with client specifications and architectural drawingsUndertake site surveys, setting out to grids and datums for precise installation coordinationCoordinate directly with Clients, Architects, Project Managers, and Cost Consultants to ensure design integrity and clarityProduce and distribute minutes from professional team meetings for internal HBJ referenceEnsure cross-trade coordination, resolving any design conflicts to maintain project fluidity.Research and implement design solutions that enhance our fabrication processes and installation efficiencyMaintain Drawing Office standards and protocols, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company procedures What can you expect in return?
