We are currently looking for a Mobile Electrician (Plant) to join our team based at Tarmac Santon Asphalt Plant, Scunthorpe. As well as Scunthorpe and Hull, this role is easily accessible fromBroughton, Brigg, Winterton, Burton upon Stather, Crowle, Thorne, Barton-upon-Humber, Doncaster, Scampton, Lincoln, Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Hornsea, Brough, Immingham and the surrounding areas.Were working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and its important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Plant Manager, the role of Mobile Electrician (Plant) will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in all aspects of plant operation.Your responsibilities as the Mobile Electrician (Plant) will include:Responding to plant breakdowns, when necessary and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standardsContinuous improvement of plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability.Utilising documents and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment within the Electrical Engineering departmentAttend service and reactive breakdowns to fault find, diagnose and repair in a timely and cost-effective mannerTo carry out the day-to-day responsive maintenance, service and repairs as instructedTo make immediate decisions as regards the repair requirements should the original job order not reflect the actual works required and to inform the relevant managerEnsure that all works and repairs are completed safely and in accordance with current codes and practicesEnsure when purchasing materials, a 'best value and cost-effective approach' is soughtThe Ideal CandidateThe idea candidate for the role of Mobile Electrician (Plant) will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work with minimal supervision. You should also demonstrate proven experience working within an heavy engineering/Industrial, Factory or similar environment.Suitable candidates for the role of Mobile Electrician (Plant) will have:18th Edition for Electrical Installations BS 7671Experience of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology and Continuous Improvement Working knowledge of relevant electrical and control engineering maintenance principles and practicesWorking experience of Industrial Low Voltage power distribution systems Good working understanding of PLCs and use of associated tools and techniques for interrogation of softwareKnowledge and understanding of operating AC Drives and MotorsKnowledge of Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM)Experience in operating a computerised Maintenance Management SystemExperience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniquesAbility to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams and transfer them into practical useAbility to perform electrical statutory tests and inspections and understand safe use of electrical test and measuring instrumentsAn understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understand National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specificationsAble to build and retain strong client and staff relationshipsMaintain high standards and follow quality control processesProactive and flexible approach to workTesting & Inspection qualification (preferred)Level 3 Apprentice trained Electrician and ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering preferredThis is a mobile role supporting several sites including in Scunthorpe and Hull.
