They have a host of clients with an extensive portfolio of projects across all sectors including, but not limited to; education, commercial, industrial, local authority, HMP, residential, healthcare, infrastructure, utilities, leisure.Role responsibilitiesThe Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing the workload and technical standard of local design engineering with the support of the Project Lead and Manager. They will be responsible for producing fee proposals and for monitoring the resource profile and profitability of the projects they work on, with support provided as required to develop these skills.The Electrical Engineer will be capable of the full design of Electrical (maybe some mechanical) services including preparation of drawings, calculations, Contractors' proposals, and all relevant supporting documentation for projects at Pricing and Construction stages to ensure the clients' requirements are met. You'll be supported and encouraged to work towards Chartership, if not already.TechnicalSupporting the Lead Engineer with input to the production of monthly management reportsSupporting the Directors with design queriesTaking part in regular Principal Engineer meetings as required by the Lead Engineer, to discuss design department matters including, resource, projects, design issues etc.Attending design meetings with client/Lead Engineer to accept design brief and/or advise on proposed workArranging required survey workPreparation of Contractors' ProposalsArranging the preparation of drawings and technical back-up for planning applicationsResponsibility for design of electrical / mechanical services inclusive of calculations, layout drawings and specificationsCarry out design reviews in line with design QA documentsParticipation in project hand over meetings including defects and incomplete works inspectionsEnsuring team members are kept abreast of all new developments in sustainable technology and associated training schemesCarry out Technical Presentations to End Users, Clients, and staffOn BIM enabled Projects, information roles and duties as defined in ISO 19650 and / or the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP)Personal AttributesIdentifies ways to improve the business and encourages others to do the same.
