About The RoleTeam Underwriting & Claims - LifeWorking Pattern - Hybrid / Remote based 2days per week in any of the Vitality Offices (Bournemouth, London or Stockport). Home working will also be considered.Full time, 37.5 hours per week.We are happy to discuss flexible working!Top 3 skills needed for this role:Broad experience of underwriting large cases requiring financial & medical underwritingAbility to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes effectivelyAble to demonstrate strategic thinking and mentoring abilityWhat this role is all about:This role is all about delivering our High Net Worth (HNW) underwriting proposition with precision, innovation, and impact. Youll be at the heart of complex case management, working closely with brokers, reinsurers, and internal teams to ensure our HNW clients receive a seamless, expert experience.Key ActionsUnderwrite HNW cases in accordance with Vitality's underwriting philosophy and quality standardsMeet and support brokers to help manage key large cases through the underwriting processLiaise with our reinsurers to ensure successful placement of businessWork with our sales teams to develop bespoke financial underwriting solutions for key clientsEducate the sales teams on the large case underwriting journey and how to navigate thisHelp mentor and develop less experienced underwritersIdentify how we can improve our HNW underwriting proposition, so that we have the most compelling HNW underwriting proposition in the marketWhat do you need to thrive?A sound knowledge of the reinsurance and retrocession aspects of this businessExisting relationships and credibility with advisors who work in this marketA very high level of credibility and influence with the reinsurance marketExperience of working closely with and mentoring senior underwriters (ideally including underwriters based at different locations)Excellent knowledge of all aspects of financial and medical underwritingStrong presentation skillsGood communicator and influencer/manages conflict wellGood grasp of Microsoft office productsSo, whats in it for you?Bonus Schemes A bonus that regularly rewards you for your performanceA pension of up to 12% We will match your contributions up to 6% of your salaryOur award-winning Vitality health insurance With its own set of rewards and benefitsLife Assurance Four times annual salaryThese are just some of the many perks that we offer!
