Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with Building Services to join a growing and forward-thinking building services consultancy. This role will play a key part in shaping the development of our presence across Scotland and the North East, with a particular focus on Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Newcastle.Initially remote, this role will evolve into a hybrid model as we establish our new Glasgow office. Youll be instrumental in driving projects forward while contributing to regional strategy, technical delivery, and business development.Key Responsibilities:Lead mechanical design across a variety of building services projects in commercial, education, healthcare, residential, and public sectorsOversee the delivery and coordination of work across the Glasgow/Edinburgh and Newcastle regionsProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and regional project teamsEngage with clients, design teams, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service deliveryReview and approve design calculations, specifications, and technical reportsContribute to the strategic growth of the business, including support for bid writing and client relationship developmentEnsure compliance with industry standards, legislation, and sustainability goalsCollaborate across disciplines and contribute to a positive and innovative company cultureAbout You:Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward ChartershipProven leadership in project delivery and team coordinationStrong technical expertise with a practical understanding of HVAC, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable design principlesExperience using design software such as IES, Hevacomp, Revit, and AutoCADExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work independently and support growth across multiple locationsWhats on Offer:Competitive salary and benefits packageFlexible, remote-first working with a transition to hybrid in GlasgowOpportunity to shape the future of a regional office and grow a teamA collaborative and empowering environment with career progressionInvolvement in impactful, high-profile projects across the UKHow to Apply: If youre looking to take the next step in your career and help shape the future of building services in the region, wed love to hear from you.
