Overview A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.We have an exciting opportunity for positive, proactive surgical core level trainees wishing to develop their surgical skills with a dynamic and supportive team. This post is primarily for delivery of OMFS but involves multidisciplinary head and neck oncology services.This is a 12-month full-time fixed-term position, starting this September and with the possibility of extension. Applicants must have full registration with the GMCorGDC at time of appointment.Responsibilities and role Experience a dual qualified specialty first hand, while personally developing surgical skills with one-to-one teaching in clinics, on call and theatre, vital to the progression in any surgical speciality. Work closely with other allied teams, such as plastics and ENT, delivering head and neck services to the region, from diagnostic biopsies to complex reconstructive procedures.The approximate number of treatment sessions per working week is variable depending on rotation, but the week typically includes:2 Clinics2 Minor oral surgery sessions2 Theatre lists2 days On-call alternating with 1 day On-callThe standard working hours are:Clinic day 9am - 5pmTheatre day 7.30am - 5.30pmOn-call days 08.30am - 5.30pmOn-call duties:1 in 11 nights1 in 11 weekendsDaytime on-call is on site while out of hours is off siteJoin us at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and be part of a workforce of over 10,000 staff!About the trust The NNUH is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, providing first-class acute care for around one million people, living in Norfolk and surrounding areas.
