Location: Must live in a commutable distance to Durham and be able to undertake a Northeast field-based role Territory: Northeast Newcastle Upon Tyne, Durham, Hartlepool, Teessidedown to York The role of the Plumbing/Remedial Technician Supervisor: Reporting to the Account Manager, your role is to manage and lead a team of 4 Plumbers/Remedial Technicians undertaking general plumbing works on communal hot and cold-water systems on an array of designated commercial contracts. Client sites are predominantly universities, manufacturing companies, council buildings, residential homes for the elderly, as well as hospitals, local authorities and housing associations. You will travel to the Durham office approx. once a week to attend management meetings and provide status updates on jobs worked/in progress. The rest of your week approx. 4 days will be leading from the front and attending client sites where your team are working to ensure works are completed to time, quality and service levels agreed. Lead a team of four expert plumbers /remedial technicians to undertake works to deadlines/customer satisfaction across the northeast region from Newcastle down to York. You will also need to be a hands-on manager who will get involved with the day to day works to include the rip out and fit of new piping, upgrading of cold-water storage tanks and hot & cold-water distribution systems as the jobs require. Cleaning and disinfection of water tanks and systems TMV servicing Shower cleans hose replacements and general plumbing remedial works. Carry out thermometer and ladder calibrations. Responding to call outs when required across the Newcastle, Hartlepool down to Teeside. The requirements of the Remedial Technician: Either an experienced Plumber with an NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing OR a time served, qualified by experience plumber. Must have a minimum of 5 years supervisory/people management experience of plumbers/remedial technicians within a HVAC company. Undertaken commercial plumbing projects not just domestic plumbing and heating. Problem solver, self-starter; knows how to get the jobs done in the right way each time and lead the team to do this, by taking control and planning the works. Each client site is different so you will be flexible in your approach to work and happy to work in confined spaces and at heights when required. Computer literate and able to use a tablet and other IT equipment to schedule site visits, hold management meetings, communicate achievement versus targets. Full right to work in the UK without requiring any Visa sponsorship is required. A full UK driving license is required with the ability to travel across the territory.
