About the Job Specifications: Permanent, Full time (although part time four days per week would be considered) Salary: £45,000 per annum based on full time hours (pro rata for part time) Location: Remote (home based) with some travel to London for meetings as required (these will be eligible for expenses to be claimed) The HR team at Cochrane rebranded in 2024 to People and Culture – this was to signpost to the organization that the role of the team is to work in partnership with a variety of stakeholders, supporting all things people related and helping to promote a strong culture. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this role will be responsible for working in tandem with designated directorates in the organization to deliver their people related activities – these include recruitment, employee relations, training, workforce planning and embedding strategic initiatives. We are a small team with one other People Partner, and our new appointee will work very closely with them to ensure consistency of processes and share ideas and knowledge. Whilst we aim for high standards of excellence in what we deliver and are passionate about what we do, we are a very friendly team and aim to meet face to face during the course of the year. Your key areas of responsibility will be: Responsible for all things People & Culture for your designated directorates (and for the other directorates when required) Supporting the Head of People & Culture to develop and deliver strategic initiatives Have input into the continuous improvement of our processes, policies and ways of working Championing equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in all that you do Providing service excellence at all levels of the organization We are looking for a self-motivated and highly organised individual who can work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse range of contacts across the world. The successful candidate must also be able to offer: CIPD qualification equivalent to Level 7 or currently working towards this Previous experience of working in an HR or People & Culture team – even better if this was within the not for profit sector Skilled at coaching, guiding and supporting managers on people related matters Self-confidence, personal credibility and the ability to support and challenge others appropriately Good understanding and application of the principles of UK employment law and best practice, (including the forthcoming Employment Rights bill) together with equity, diversity and inclusion Pragmatism and critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively when problem solving Commitment to Cochrane’s mission and values Cochrane is a global, independent network of health practitioners, researchers, patient advocates and others, responding to the challenge of making vast amounts of research evidence useful for informing decisions about health.
