We are working with a global professional services firm that is looking to engage a senior commercial contracts lawyer to advise the business on public sector/defence sector contracting and frameworks in the Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare team covering a period of Paternity leave.The role starts in September, for 4 weeks, and is Full Time. You can work fully remotely but there is the option to attend the office in Canary Wharf, London. Essential experience:Experienced public sector/defence commercial contracts lawyerExperience of public sector frameworks such as MCF3, Technology Services 3, Cyber Security Services iii, NHS SBS.Responsibilities include:Advise confidently on public sector frameworks, including MCF3, Technology Services 3, Cyber Security Services III, NHS SBS, and others. Where appropriate, negotiate contractual amendments to protect the client’s interests, whether engaging as the prime contractor or subcontractor.Negotiate effectively with subcontractors (where the client is acting as prime) or with prime contractors (where the client is subcontracting), always with a view to securing commercially sound and risk-aware outcomes.Inspire confidence among senior business stakeholders by managing high-profile, high-value, and time-sensitive matters swiftly and competently, escalating issues only where necessary and in line with agreed processes.Quickly get up to speed with the client’s ways of working, including their risk appetite, internal processes, and preferred approach. Assimilate and apply information from existing contracts, legal guidance, and risk trackers with minimal ramp-up time.Deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice. Operate independently and take ownership of your matters, seeking input only where escalation is appropriate.We would like you to be able to perform at your best throughout this recruitment process.
