Data & Reporting Analyst - Edinburgh (Hybrid)Up to £35,000 (depending on experience) The Data Gals is partnering with a fast growing scale-up that works with retailers, making their platform mission-critical to thousands of businesses nationwide.You’ll join an ambitious and collaborative team dedicated to making data actionable for internal stakeholders and brand partners.About the RoleReporting to the Director of Analytics, you’ll play a pivotal role in producing and improving reports that showcase the performance of brand campaigns and the platform’s impact. You’ll collaborate with commercial, growth, and marketing teams to deliver insights that drive better decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Produce monthly sales reports, including year-on-year and category analysis.Respond to data requests from brand partners (e.g., basket analysis, distribution metrics).Support internal teams with reporting and ad-hoc analysis.Collaborate on campaign setup to ensure reporting requirements are met.Optimise and automate recurring data queries and reporting processes.Identify opportunities to improve data workflows and suggest enhancements.About YouYou are an analytical thinker who enjoys solving problems and making complex data clear and compelling. You’ll thrive in this role if you:Have experience using Excel (pivot tables, lookups).Have SQL skills, with the ability to write queries from scratch (e.g., joins, aggregations, window functions).Are commercially minded and understand which insights are most relevant to sales and brand performance.Can translate data for both technical and non-technical audiences.Enjoy automating and improving reporting processes.Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, less structured environment.Preferred Experience:Previous experience in a commercially focused data role, ideally analysing sales or business performance.Experience in smaller teams or start-up/scale-up environments where adaptability is key.Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.Experience optimising reporting workflows (e.g., VBA, Power Apps).Experience working with retail, grocery delivery, or Q-commerce data (a plus, not essential).Nice to Have:Familiarity with barcode or campaign management tools.Experience using regular expressions (regex).Exposure to client-facing or partner-facing analysis.Important to Note:This role is not focused on data science, predictive modelling, or purely engineering tasks.
