Job DescriptionVMware Automation Engineer (x2) - Aria | Orchestration | Scripting | GitLabDay Rate - 500Location - Farnborough (Hybrid) iR35 determination - OutsideDuration - 6 months initialWe're working with a secure-sector programme undergoing a large-scale infrastructure transformation. As part of this, we're looking to bring in two experienced VMware Automation Engineers to help design and implement complex workflows that support rapid, repeatable deployment of services across a multi-tenant private cloud.This is a hybrid role based in Farnborough, Due to the nature of the work, active SC clearance is essential.What You'll Be DoingBuilding and maintaining advanced automation pipelines using VMware Aria (formerly vRealize) suite - particularly Aria Automation and OrchestratorDesigning, developing, and managing complex workflows to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and life cycle managementSupporting the integration of infrastructure automation into wider CI/CD pipelines, particularly within GitLabWriting clean, scalable code using JavaScript and Python to support orchestration logic and toolingWorking closely with other infrastructure, security, and platform teams to ensure automation aligns with compliance and design standardsContributing to best practices for automation architecture, source control, and modular orchestration designCore Skills & ExperienceProven hands-on experience with VMware Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation) and Aria OrchestratorStrong understanding of infrastructure orchestration, including designing and managing complex workflowsProgramming/Scripting proficiency in JavaScript and PythonFamiliarity with source control management, particularly GitLabSolid grasp of CI/CD concepts and integrating automation into pipeline-driven deploymentsGood understanding of virtualisation and infrastructure components, ideally in secure or regulated environmentsDesirable SkillsExposure to Rundeck or other orchestration platformsKnowledge of secure infrastructure principles and Secure by Design methodologiesExperience working within multi-tenant environments or service provider models
